Rolling Restart - Wednesday January 2nd →
To push out server-side fixes related to age verification and a few causes of sim crashes, we will be performing a rolling restart of the Second Life servers on Wednesday, January 2nd 2008. Logins will be unaffected, and no new viewers will be required.
The restarts will begin between 10 and 11am Pacific, and take about 4 hours to update all simulators, followed by some cleanup work. Each...

If you are using our Windlight or Release Candidate viewer, you might have noticed that you are currently not able to login or download the latest version of either. We have found an issue concerning both of these viewers, that required us to disable them for the time we need to fix the problem.

issue that leads to some residents, groups and places not being included
in the search. Classifieds and events are not affected by this issue. I

Quicktime Security Update →
As I indicated in a prior posting, we became aware of a serious flaw in Apple’s QuickTime software that could cause maliciously crafted movies to either crash your Second Life viewer or, more seriously, to execute arbitrary code contained within the stream. We had warned to take caution when enabling movie playback within the viewer.
The good news is Apple has recently released a patch for this...
